Good Afternoon! Pappy's Place will be hosting our 2nd Annual Beyond Flaming 1 Wing Challenge for Charity on November 2, 2024. We are very excited this year!! We will be raising money for Autism support. All monies raised will remain in Jackson county to help families affected by Autism. We are excited to partner with Capable of Jackson County. Capable provides assistance to families with special needs. They provide travel assistance for appointments, communication devices, and medical equipment needed for Autistic children. As we continue to raise funds, they would love to provide a sensory friendly playground for Autistic Children in Jackson County. With Autism affecting our own family, it is very important to us to team up with such a great cause and help to make funds available to individuals and their families seeking support and handling Autism within their family. If you have not been affected by anyone with Autism, I can tell you they are some of the most loving and caring individuals. They are just like us, they just learn in different ways. They are often sensory focused and require equipment and learning devices that often families can’t afford. 1 in 36 children are affected by autism. Autism Spectrum Disorder has increased 312% since 2000. With this rise, comes a need for communities to come together and provide resources for safe environments for these children to learn and grow. On Saturday November 2, 2024, Pappy's Place at 125 N Broad St, Scottsboro, AL will hold their annual Beyond Flaming 1 Wing Challenge. Pappy's Place offers a wing challenge where participants can attempt to eat 10 wings in 8 minutes with a 4 minute burn time. No drink, no ranch, no napkins. Clean finger and clean chicken bones. The Scoville level of these hot wings is 9,000,000 Scoville heat units. While many have tried, only 2 have completed the challenge in the 2 years that Pappy's has offered it. At the Annual 1 Wing Challenge, individuals will have the opportunity to try just 1 of Pappy's Challenge Wings. After making a $10 donation per wing to the charity, everyone participating will take that first bite of these super hot wings and feel the heat together!! But that's not all, this event will be held from 12:00 pm - 3 pm with activities for the kids to enjoy. Area businesses will be here in support with activities like Face Painting, Bounce House, Carnival Games and more. There will prizes, Raffles, Free Hot Dogs, Free Soda and a lot of fun! The event will be held at Pappy’s Place located at 125 N Broad St, Scottsboro, AL from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm. At 2:30 pm we will begin preparing the wings for everyone who wishes to try the 1 Wing Challenge for Charity.
