300 teams from the @Angler's Choice Trail will converge on Alabama’s Guntersville Lake at Goose Pond Colony on March 7th and 8th for their 2019 Tournament of Champions.
The tournament is hosted by Jackson County Tourism and the City of Scottsboro, living up to its reputation as one of the friendliest cities in the country. Local businesses roll out the red carpet to welcome the six hundred plus participating anglers and go to great lengths to ensure all the anglers’ needs were met.
For this tournament Jackson County Tourism Director J.P. Parsons had some special comments; “When Anglers Choice select Scottsboro and Lake Guntersville for their Tournament of Champions, we jump at the opportunity to host them. They are a great group of anglers from all over the mid-west and we appreciate them as much as they do us.
Because of the City’s Tourism Event Grant program. the Chamber and City spend over $18,000 to bring them here, but after everything is said and done the economic impact to our area is almost $2,500,000 to our businesses. This is the kind of tournament we love to host!”
For this year’s event the expectation will be for a great event, and Scottsboro and Lake Guntersville should not disappoint. In any tournament that a team weighs in a ten fish limit that exceeds 40 pounds they have had a good tournament, but as in this tournament, when 58 teams do it, that truly is an epic event
