On Thursday morning, September 17, we’ll gather in downtown Bridgeport for the Trail of Tears Early Bird Breakfast, marking the beginning of a weekend rooted in remembrance, fellowship, and a history that still matters.

The breakfast helps kick off the journey leading to the 33rd Annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride, when riders will once again travel in remembrance of the thousands of Native people forced from their homelands during the removals of the 1830s.

It is a history that deserves more than a passing mention.

It deserves to be remembered.
