The Scottsboro-Jackson Heritage Center has announced the dates for their annual Christmas Open House as well as Santa at the Center for this year. The public is cordially invited to attend the Christmas Open House festivities on Sunday afternoon, December 9 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come see the beautiful decorations provided by the Scottsboro Garden Club and enjoy delicious refreshments provided by members of the Museum Board and entertainment provided by local talent. This year’s theme is “A Traditional Christmas”. The members of the Scottsboro Garden Club generously share their decorating skills each year by transforming the Heritage Center into a beautiful holiday venue. Those who attend will find many wonderful ideas for decorating and will experience a truly warm welcome to kick off the Holiday Season. Entertainment for the Open House will be provided by The Community Band, John and Sydney Lovelady, and the Youth Community Choir. The Annual Open House is free to the public and is a way for the Heritage Center and the Museum Board members to express their appreciation to the community for their generous support. The Scottsboro-Jackson Heritage Center is located at 208 South Houston Street in Scottsboro.
According to Susan Fisher, president of the Museum board, “The Annual Christmas Open House is a wonderful opportunity to visit with friends while enjoying good food and wonderful entertainment in a beautiful setting. We encourage Heritage Center patrons and other members of the community to stop by and share this special time with us on Sunday, December 9th. The change from our previous years evening venue to a Sunday afternoon provides an opportunity for those in the community who do not drive after dark to attend and hopefully, will also provide an opportunity for those who are out on Sunday afternoon after church services to also take advantage of the change. We are also anticipating having lots of children from the community to visit with Santa on Sunday, December 16th. Both of these functions are free to the public and we hope members of the community will join us in celebrating the Holiday Season.”
