Step back in time and experience history come to life at the Skirmish at Fort Harker, returning to Stevenson for an unforgettable weekend of living history and family-friendly fun.
This immersive Civil War reenactment takes place at the historic Fort Harker, a Union fort originally built in 1862 to protect strategic railroad lines during the Civil War. Today, the preserved fort provides an authentic backdrop where visitors can witness the sights, sounds, and stories of the 1860s brought vividly back to life.
Throughout the weekend, guests can explore Union and Confederate military camps, interact with reenactors portraying soldiers and civilians, and learn about daily life during one of the most pivotal eras in American history. Demonstrations of military drills, historic trades, and camp life offer a fascinating educational experience for visitors of all ages.
The highlight of the weekend will be the dramatic battle reenactments held at 2:00 p.m. each day, where the thunder of cannon and musket fire recreates the intensity of a Civil War skirmish.
In addition to the battles, visitors can enjoy period vendors, food booths, live music, and living-history exhibits, making this a perfect outing for families, history lovers, and anyone looking for a unique local experience.
